Adrift in Manhattan

An alternative movie after a while. It's about a young couple, even younger photographer and an old painter.
A young couple gets separated because of tragic loss of their son. The husband blamed the wife, because she was at home when their son fell of the window and died. They just couldn't get over his death and were living separated life for each other. He was a school teacher, she was oculist.
One day a young photographer started to follow her because he liked her really much, and one day he sent her the photos he made of her.
She freaked out and went to the photo shop where the photos were made. She just wanted to know who took the photos of her.
Meanwhile she had an old patient that was getting blind. But that was not an option for him. He was alone, never in relationship and a painter. He couldn't imagine the life without his sight.
He met a nice lady of his age at the work where he worked for many years. He didn't need much for living and he was grateful for what he had. But he realized that he can not live the same life without his sight any more.
That is when he fell in love with that old lady that he met at work. And they did well together.
The doctor (oculist) found the young photographer and showed him the pleasures of sex life.
He had problematic mother at home that was abusing him and wanted him to be her man.
The end of movie is very open and does not say how will it all continue.

The Nanny Diaries

How do the nannies of high society in US live?
This is what is this movie all about. Who really raises the children, who makes them what they really are and who takes care for them when the parents have "no time".
The movie shows the problems in typical high society family where the wife needs all the time to take care of here, so that she looks perfect for her husband.
She doesn't spare a minute too much for taking care of her son. And that is why she desperately need nanny.
The husband is never home and his son only knows that he exists, but doesn't really know who he is.
All the problems of the kid are passed on poor nanny that gets hardly any payment at all.
It is a comedy but it also has a teaching touch.

The Golden Compass

I've been waiting for this one for quite a time. And because the book was great and the actors were right I knew that this movie can't be bad.
I was right. I liked every minute of it and I can't wait for the next part to come out.

Heartbreak Kid

It's about the man who is 40 and still alone. His ex girlfriend invited him to her wedding. And then it begun. He realized that he is alone for too long and that he needs a girl.
As a pure fortune he finds one very quickly. But there is a problem. She should go to Europe to continue her work there, unless she gets married.
A fool as he was he proposes. And on the way to their honeymoons he begins to realize what a terrible mistake has he done. He starts knowing his new wife in the way he did not know her before. And he does not like it.
On the honeymoon she gets burn really bad by the sun. And he is free to do what he likes. He meets a nice single woman that would be perfect for him and begins to plan the divorce.
The stuff gets really mixed up.
It is a funny story that you really should watch for yourself.

Menina Planina

Few weeks back we went on a family trip to the Menina Planina. This is a mountain nearby. And in mid December it was covered with snow.
It was a very nice walk in the story-like outdoor. The weather was clear and cold. The cottage was opened so we got a hot cup of tea and wend down back again.
It was the first trip of my girls and mine families.

Rush Hour 3

Are you ready for a good comedy? This sure is one, and a good one I must say.
I liked the first two parts as well, and this one is just continuing the good comedy and action. This time it is about a big conspiracy of French ambassador that wants to get the list of Chinese mafia leaders that are tattooed on some girls head.
But this is not enough the main star (Jackie Chan) also meets his long forgotten brother that has already betrayed him in the past.
The action is good, there is more then enough humor and the play is good as well.

The Kingdom

Well. I did not like this movie. In fact I did not watch the whole movie. It is telling a story of Kingdom in the middle east. Or how did the Americans come to the land of middle east and created a whole country right in the middle of another country. How did they want to live in richness and peace, but right across the hedge of their kingdom, there were poor people, with the culture very different to theirs and who did not like to have Americans as neighbors.
That is why they started to attacked them, and that is what the movie is all about.
Disgusting.

Everyones Hero

A small talking baseball ball together with a talking baseball bat are the main characters in this animated movie that is talking about young boy who really wants to learn how to play this game. One day he finds the talking baseball ball that quickly became his best friend and helps him with his troubles.
His father is a cleaner of locker room of one of the best baseball team in the country and he allows his son to stay in that room one evening to get the feeling how is it like to be a professional baseball player.
The next morning the team finds out that the lucky bat from their best player is missing. But they don't know who's fold is it, so they blame the boys father. The boy wants to clear his father name and goes after the an who stole the bat.
If you liked the story so far, watch the movie for the rest of it.

Battlestar Galactica - Razor

Are you fan of BSG (Battlestar Galactica)?
If the answer is "YES" then you really should watch this one. It's a great story that was not told before. About some very crucial people that held the destiny in their hands. And if they were not there the end would be even closer.

If the answer is "NO" then just ignore this post, because you are not the right kind of man for this.

Suneshine

At some time in the future the human race is endangered by the closing end of our nearest star - the Sun. But the humanity has a plan for preserving themselves for many more years.
They built the ship that will travel to the sun and drop a bomb to its center that will make sun live longer.
However the first attempt was not successful. Nobody knew what happened to the ship and its crew on their path to the sun.
The human civilization constructs another ship just like the first one and sends it on the same path, with the same mission.
On their path to the Sun they encounter the old ship and they want to find out what happened to the crew. During their voyage they some of the crew members are experiencing the a strange feeling, like the sun is watching them. And like something big is happening.
It's a nice, deep sci-fi movie.

Flight with balloon

Yes this was quite a while ago, but I still did not forget about it. My mom and dad received a flight with balloon for their 50th birth day. They wanted to take us with them and so, after many months of unsuccessful attempts we finally got our flight. It was a great experience and pleasure to flight with a balloon.
I have never imagined that there are balloons as big as the one we were on. It was for 24 passengers. A huge balloon.

Simpsons - The Movie

Hmmm.
What to say about this one. It's just like the shorter versions from TV. And I don't like it that much.
Sure it is fun, but not for long. And not all the jokes are funny. I even couldn't watched the whole movie, because of lack of interest.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry

Good comedy, about what all would a good friend do for each other when there is a need. He would even pretend he is gay even thou he really likes women.
The two friends are firefighters and are friends for a long long time. That is why they would do such thing for each other.
One of them is father of two kids. He lost his wife and is raising his kids on his own.
It is a good comedy with Adam Sandler.

Resident Evil - Extinction

Another third part. This one supposed to be the horror movie, bu I do not take it as one. For me it is only sci-fi and the beautiful Milla Jovovich.
The movie is about a virus that escaped from agency called Umbrella. It's a deadly virus that is transforming the infected target into meat eating things.
The world has changed during the firs two parts of he movie and is now a great desert.
There are only few survivors and they are headed to Alaska.
There are still some secrets that you will find out in this part. There is also place for another part.

The Bourne Ultimatum

The third and probably the last from the series of Bourne movies. It's a good action movie about an agent that was trained for special tasks. And because of that he had to forget all about his past. He later wants it back. He wants to remember.
And he has been doing something about that for two whole movies, and now he finally gets to the bottom of his past. And he remembers it all, with some help off course.
A very good action movie that shows what is possible in the world around us that we do not know it's possible.

1408

A horror movie. And if you are reading my blog then you should know that I do not like horror movies very much. And it was the same with this one. Horror fans would probably like it, but it was nothing special for me.
It is about a room in some hotel that supposed to be so scary that no one came alive out of it if he went in.
Enough said.

MMA or Maribor City Adventure

MMA standing for Mariborska Mestna Avantura or as is stated in the title Maribor City Adventure. Tis was my first adventure race from the other side. I've many races of this kind on the side of organizer, but this was the firs one I was racing in.
My roommate and me went on the shorter track. There was one of 80 km and one of 40 km. There were many disciplines: running, roller blading, mountain biking and paddling.
I am part of the team that is organizing this kind of races, and you can find out more about them on our site: www.adventurerace.si.
Oh, yes ... we didn't do so well on the race, but we did finished it. Maybe we'll do better next time (if there'll be one).

Stardust

I must say this one is a goodie. It is a nice fantasy story about stars, who they really are and where do they come from.
It's about a small village that is surrounded with the wall that none should pass. There is a dangerous world on the other side of the wall, full of strange creatures and very bad witches.
It is a kingdom where kings sons are battling for the throne.
But they are not the only ones that can get there. There is a special one that no one knows that he exists. Not even himself.
It is adventure of a young man that is trying to impress his love. She is hard to impress. And she likes those that have money and power and is using the silly boy for all the things he can do for her.
One day he says that he will bring her the star that fell from the sky that night. And she agrees to marry him if he does that. And that is when a young man jumps the wall and wonders in the dangerous world beyond it.
He, however is not the only one that is looking for the star ...
And here starts the real adventure.
A very nice fantasy movie.

Ratatouille

I've been waiting for this one for a very long time. It is quite a long time since it came out, but I just couldn't get it. It another cartoon from Pixar Animation Stuidios. The authors of Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., Toy Stories and other great cartoons.
I very much like their short animated movies. The first one I've seen was the Geri's Game. And it was a good one I must say.
There is also one of my dream job's there. To work in the top animation studio. But that is just one of them.
If you liked any of their previous animated movies, you will like this one. I can guaranty that.

Dragonheart 2

Did you watched the first one?
If you didn't, go and watch it. I must say that that one is better then this. But it doesn't mean that this one is not good.
But of course it is. It's the fantasy. And fantasy is almost always good.
There was the last living dragon in the first part. But they never mentioned that there could be an egg of another one. And that is where from comes this new dragon.
And as we can find out he isn't the last one nether. There is one that was punished by being forced to live in the human body.
The story is quite good, but the act could be better.

Johnny English

I've watched this one a while ago, but I was not sure I did. I remembered it as soon as I started to watch it again. But I was glad I did it again.
It's a very nice, lite comedy that makes you laugh every time you watch it again and again. I must say I like this kind of British humor. And Rowan Atkinson is the right man for the main role in movie like this.

Knocked Up

A comedy/romance about a woman that accidentally got pregnant with a man for a one night stand. And it was surprise for both of them. They discussed what to do and in the end she decided that she will keep the baby.
He was living in a trash apartment with some guys. He had no job, no money and no purpose in life. She on the other had got a new job on TV and was not good for her to get pregnant.
In the end it was good thing for both of them. They realized that they do like each other enough to start their life together with a baby. She also had a very comforting sister that helped her through hard times. But the end was good.

Surfs Up

A very nice comedy/animation abut a penguins who like to surf. One of them, a really young one, likes it so much that he wants to go to the championship. But this is hard. He had never seen the waves so big and he never surfed with a board that was not form ice.
He had to learn it all from beginning. He found on the island his greates idol, a legend of surfing, that was officially dead. But in the reality he only went away because new generation of surfers were not there to enjoy the show but to win at all costs.
He took the young one in the training and trained him well. But not to win but to have fun and help the friends. And that he did. He helped the legend to came back and show what is surfing all about.

Zodiac

A serial killer is trying to attract the attention of the general public. He is killing people in a weird places and with no reason bu to prove how good he is in killing and not get cough.
He claims that his head is hurting him if he doesn't kill for a long time.
It is a real life story that happen in US. He was on the stage for several years. I f the police came close to him he vanished in thin air. He gave himself a name after a wrist watch firm.
He was arrested several years after his last crime with a help of caricature artist for some paper.
The killer was leaving the coded messages for press and police and the artist was the one who broke all the codes and eventually lead police on the right track.

Kiss Of The Dragon

A good action movie with Jet Lee in main role. He is a special Chinese police agent that is helping French police with capture of Chinese mafia boss. The chief of French police however is very corrupted man, and he incriminates the Chinese police man.
They charge him with several murders and are trying to arrest him. He manages to escape and get in contact with his commanding officer and tells him what happened to him.
The French police is after him, but he is trying to clarify his name and put the police chief on trial. After long struggeling and after he finds a witness that can put chief behind the bars, he goes after the chief himself.

Trust The Man

David Duchovny, a star from one of the best Sci-Fi series X-Files is back. This time he plays a horny husband that is addicted to sex. He is father of two young children and he is dreaming of more diverse sex life. His wife however does not like the idea much.
And that is when he meets a divorced love from the high school. He has an affair with her. And when his wife finds out she throws him out of the apartment. But there is more.
There is another story of his wives brother and his girlfriend. He just doesn't want to get married. but she wants to.
That is the reason why they brake up. At the and they all are back where they belong and they love each other.

Son Of The Dragon

Nice movie about a Chinese legend. It shows the story of a man that helps poor people by stealing from the rich ones. Kinda reminds on Robin Hood. If you are fan of good Chinese movies this is surely a good one to watch.
The story in nice and there is much usage of martial arts. It is a mini series in two parts.

Lookout

Not really good movie. It's about young teenager that has a car accident while driving at night without lights. There was a harvester parked right in the middle of the road. He had three friends with him. Two died, but two survived with serious damage.
He himself had a serious head injury. His memory was damaged and he had problems with remembering new things, and remembering things before accident.
He was cleaning the bank at night and some guys took advantage of his disability. They wanted to rob the bank, and they did it too.
He however changed his mind and wanted to stop the action. His only job was to look after the cops. He made a plan how he will stop the robbery, and even thou he had memory problems he did it.
He later started his own buisnes with his roommate. They opened a restaurant.
Its kinda dark movie. That is why I didn't liked it much.

It's A Boy Girl Thing

A nice comedy about teenagers, one a neard (it's a she) and the other the complete opposite the party and sport freak (it's a he). Some weird statue in museum makes them switch the bodies and they are struggling to make it back to their own bodies.
Each of them is waiting for a special thing. She has meeting for a collage where she could study literature and he has a game that could bring him scholarship and a place on some sport college.
They must work together to pass this barricades and that is hard.
But they make it and not only that. They fell in love.
Nice comedy/romance.

Grindhouse - Death Proof

This one was a little better then it's predecessor (Death Proof). It's about speed freaks that love the speed, and not just that, some even like to kill. There are again some nice ladies and familiar faces, even the producer himself.
But I must say that this is not my kind of movie.

Avenger

This one I didn't like that much. It's a movie about a man that seeks revenge for his daughter that was killed. After he gets it his goal became to help other do the same. He is the tool of revenge and gets the people responsible for them.
An action movie with some killing and shooting involved.

Shanghai Kiss

Hmmm, what to say about this one. A love romance between teen and a man in his med 20's. He thinks he0s to old for her, but she likes her very much. He wanted to be an actor, but he only gets Chinese parts. Well he is Chinese, but he was born in US.
He inherits an apartment in Shanghai and goes there to sell it. But he finds another nice (a little older) woman there that he fells in love with. He decides to move to Shanghai, but later realizes that this is not what he would really like to do.
At the end, he stays in US and...
We'll see it for your self if you want to.

Disturbia

Youngsters dad dies in an unfortunate car accident. He was lucky that he survived. But his life changed dramatically. He became very strange to school and was in bad mood many times.
Once the teacher teased him, and he reacted with the punch in the face.
He got house arrest for couple of months. In the mean he spent much of his time playing video games, sitting in front of the computer.
His mom wanted to make his life better, so she canceled all the tech stuff and made him do something useful.
He also got a new nice looking neighbor. And his hobby became spying after all the neighbors. He suspected one of his neighbors to be a serial killer, but he just never seen him do anything like it. The new neighbor, the cute one, came to him and they made friends, even more later. But you should probably see it for your self. It's nice one

Breach

That one was a good one. It's about the biggest leakage of the CIA in USA history. An old agent that was spying in Soviet Union, a very good computer genius, that knew many things about computer security in CIA. He gave away many important informations.
The chiefs knew about that but they didn't have any proofs. It was young mans task to get them, and to close the leak down.
A very good movie based on true story from 70's of 20th century.

Spieces - The Avakening

Another horror movie. And guess what, I didn't liked it. Well it just has too stupid story. To plain and to dumb.
It's about a woman that was created in lab and because of that her life expectancy is shorter. Much shorter. She also isn't pure human, but a thing, a new spiciest.
Enough said.

Transformers

When I was young, I was watching this cartoon series. I liked it. And like with many things today they made movie out of it. And yes, you guessed it, it's called Transformers.
The story in the movie is good, I liked it, but some facts about history are way out of line and make human race look stupid. The first transistor was not discovered with the help of alien technology. Damn, that is what I didn't like.
On the other hand the movie shows that there will still be wars in the future. We'll se about that.

Flushed Away

At first I thought this was just another low budget animated movie. But after I watched I was really amazed. It was so nice and funny that I was really please I watched it. It's about a city rat that was accidentally thrown into a real rat city. After being alone for a really long time he meet many new friends and a love.
They adventured together and saved the rat city from being destroyed by a evil toad.
Funny one.

Greatest Gift

A nice movie about a young man that never worked in his life.
His grandfather just died and he was a wealthy man, very wealthy. After the funeral his will was read. No one of the heirs was satisfied with his share of fortune. But the main character received the greatest gift. At first it seemed like it was nothing, he just had to work, and he had to work really hard, to meet the conditions.
After he made all that was mentioned in the will, he got a real fortune, a future wife and his life got the meaning after all.
It's a really nice movie.

Grindhouse - Planet Terror

Pulp. Well I didn't like this one very much. It's mostly about killing. Well there are some celebrities in the movie like Bruce Willis, but this does not make the movie better. There were also some nice women in there, but again, doesn't change much.
I simply didn't like it.

Empire

A very nice history movie about Rome. It shows what was the life like back then. How did the live, and it also tells the story about the first Cesar named Caezar. It shows how the giddy senators assassinated their leader and how the fight for his place was deadly for many Romans.
It is a great saga in two parts that describes the that part of history.
If you like Rome and antique times, then you just have to see this mini series.

28 Weeks Later

If you watched 28 days later, you'll surely like this one too. It was marked as one of the best second movie. It's a horror movie that displays a story of virus spreading.
In the first movie the virus was all over UK. All the survivors were evacuated from the island.
Several months later, when there was no trace of virus any more, the returning of the people has begun. But there was a catch. There was a survivor on the island that was infected, but was still normal. She was only a carrier.
That is when it all begun again. The virus took over the UK again, but this time it went even further, over the sea.
What will come next?

Ocean's 13

There was 11, 12 and now there is 13. The difference is that the casino is bigger, price is higher and the danger as well.
It's a fun movie to watch and relax. It's 11 and 12 combined and it's simply great. If you liked 11 and 12 you will enjoy 13 too.

Dark Resurection

A movie from Star Wars world created by Italian fans of Star Wars. It's Italian but it is good. This is just the first part and it opens the story about a planet where a man can get invincible powers, but he falls to the black side of the force.
There is a young student that the proficies are saying will save the universe. More of it we'll se in the next part. It is a low budget movie, but it is made very good and the play of characters is on a really high level.

Live Free Or Die Hard

Another movie from Bruce. But this time he is saving the world for the fourth time. Yes this is Die Hard 4. And it's great. Bruce is searching for his successor because he is tired of all that shit. And yes it's about money again. And yes it includes all hi tech that is available today. The most work is done by bes hackers and the network shows its true potential.
Die Hard again.

Perfect Sranger

Movie with crime story that just blows. I won't be writing anything about the story. You just have to see it. And there's Bruce in this one.
The story is so twisted that you just can't tell it. A must see.

How Much Do You Love Me

I wanted to watched this movie ever since it was out, but I just couldn't get my fingers on it. It's comedy about a French man that won lottery and was in love with a prostitute. She accepted his offer of living together for much money a month.
There was however her pimp that just didn't want to lose her. And there was another thing: She was prostitute by heart and couldn't get rid of her habits. She was still sleeping with other men.
Nice comedy.

Universe

I haven't watched a good documentary about space for quite some time before I ran into the new scientific series of Universe. This one was really great. In 14 parts takes you on the crazy journey from planets in our solar system to the explanation of how sun works to the creation of galaxies black holes pulsars and many other strange things out there. It also explains latest theories about creation of universe and how scientists have imagined it through the centuries. There are many famous guests in the show like Brian Grenee, Martin Reves and much more.

It was about time that good documentaries were made after a long pause.

Expedition England Scotland 2007

It's almost a moth since we're back from this one of the kind expedition. And I am writing something about it now.

We started on beautiful Tusday morning on a very well known meeting point in Velenje, that is in front of Red Hall. This was our third expedition of this kind and I must say it was a success. We had the same driver as on both past expedition, since he is the best bus driver in the world. But this year he had a suprise for us. He came with a brand new bus. A very nice coach from Neoplan.
After hit the road we had many kilometers before our first stop in south Germany.
Let me just go through the days:
Day 1. (Velenje - Nürnberg)
650km of road and two stops in Passau and Regensburg.
The first day was more driving less exploring.
Day 2. (to Waterloo)
Three countries in one day. Germany, Luxemburg, Belgium. This was a very joyful day. Luxenburg is really nice city. Unfortunately we had only 2 hours to see it.
Day 3. (to Dunkerque)
Brussels and Dunkerque are nice cities. Brussels was very empty thou. Especially new part of city. The old town was very beautiful. And the EU parliament was nice too.
Day 4. (to Cambride)
On our way to UK we took a ferry from Calais to Dover. Our coach driver was in UK for the first time and he adjusted well to driving on the wrong side of the road. First stop in England was an old town of Canterbury. This is a really nice old small town. At the afternoon we reached our base for the next 4 days - Cambridge. We know a scout group from there and we have contacts for more then 20 years now.
Day 5. (to Jamboree)
This was a nice experience. We had all day for exploration of Jamboree area. And it was not enough. The place was huge, and there were more then 30.000 people. It was just crazy experience. Meeting other cultures and people from all over the world. And they were all scouts.
Day 6. (to Duxford)
On that day we visited air base in Duxford. It is a really nice airplade museum. I saw Blackbird there and even B52. Nice experience. In the afternoon we went to pub to see how it is like to watch a football game in one of pubs. And it was nice.
Day 7. (to London)
I was there before, and I know that you just can't see it in one day. But it is nice city. I went in national gallery for the second time (because of my girl), I didn't mind that at all. I was in Apple store there. It was nice to feel the subway again.
Day 8. (to York)
We left our base in Cambridge and turn north to Scotland. We stopped in Lincoln and York. Two nice cities. I must say.
Day 9. (to Edinburgh)
We stopped in New Castle., the ugliest cities on out expedition. I don't know why but it was not nice and we all agreed it was the worst. We only reached the suburbs of Edinburg that day.
Day 10. (Edinburgh)
That was day of 25km long walk around the city. The city is just pearl of North. A really nice city to visit or to live in. Worth visiting again. This a half of the expedition.
Day 11. (to Loch Lomond)
We went on Wallace National Monument, dedicated to the greatest rebel of Scotland William Wallace. That day we also stopped in Pitchlochry. This was our most North point of our expedition. We concluded the day near Lake of Loch Lomond, but there was unpleasant surprise. A million of small bugs attacked us. Much like mosquitoes, but far worse.
Day 12. (to Chester)
We came to early to Glasgow so everything was closed and we went on. In Liverpool we visited renewed old docs with Navy museum, Beatles museum and Tate. In the afternoon we arrived in Chester, another pretty old town with nice wall and buildings.
Day 13. (to Cardiff)
On this day we visited ruined castle in Montgomery and ended out day in Cardiff, with beautiful parks and very fancy ruby field.
Day 14. (to Portsmouth)
Through Bath with the nicest today standing roman baths. We stopped by Stonehenge. Visited a beautiful cathedral in Salisbury and ended in Portsmouth, which is nice city with Spinaker tower, a sail shaped tower. There we got on ferry for France and had a party on board of that big ferry that took 7 hours to reach the France.
Day 15. (to Aromanches)
Back on the mainland. We visited the D-Day museum there where the allies have come to shore in World War 2. We also visited the monument for American soldiers there by.
Day 16. (to Tours)
The one and only St. Michel. A really beautiful monastery with small village on the nice little isle. Next was St. Malô. a nice small isle town with narrow streets full of people.
Day 17. (to Orleans)
The castles on Loire. They are nice. We visited two of them Amboise, where Da Vince lived last 3 years of his life and is buried there. The other castle was Chambrod. The greatest castle I have ever seen. Huge building with lots and lots of rooms.
Day 18. (to Mulhouse)
Mostly driving whole day. There were many kilometers to home.
Day 19. (to Insnsbruck)
Stop in Zürich. One of the most boring cities on expedition. Full with rich swiss people and very sterile. There was really nice view from our camp in Innsbruck.
Day 20. (to Velenje)
Visit of Innsbruck in the morning with golden roof, and ski jump site. Stop in Swarovski museum. Museum full of crystals all kinds and colors. Then the way back home pass the Großglöckner, with nice mountain sight.

Eight Below

This one is really nice.
It's a movie about husky dogs that are used on Antarctica for sledge dragging. It's a story about how this dogs can survive in a really unfriendly weather at temperatures many degrees below zero.
It shows how this dogs survive more then 150 days on their own in the land of ice and snow. They must work together to survive. They have to hunt together and sometimes they must sacrifice themselves for the good of all the others.
Movie was filmed after the real life events and it says the story of real dogs and peoples. When you think that people are the one that you care about, you see that the animals are maybe even more emotional.

Cold Mountain (Mt. Mrzla or Mrzla Gora)

Well that is bunch of names for the same Mountain. They are combination of original Slovene name and translations to English.
One nice Saturday We (My two friends Marko and Uroš) decided to conquer this peek of our Mountains. It is just over the 2000 m high (2203 m to be exact) mountain in Kamniško-Savinjske Alps. But the way up is however not one of the easiest. It is very rocky and its good to have helmet with you (On the head off course).
It was really nice day. There are only few pictures that I took with my phone from the top.

Harry Potter And The Order Of Phoenix

It's been quite a while since I watched this one. And that is why I'll be short about it.
It is great. I wont write about the plot, since I want you to at least watch it. But if you are Fiction lover, then you must read the book.

My only minus is that the actors are much older then they should be. Sadly but they age for more then a year between movies and that is not good.

Away for the long time

Well this was really long time without blogging.
What can I say. I just had to do it and I did it with purpose and intention.
First part was because I was away on yet another expedition (I'll be writing about it later) and the other part of my "Off-time" was dedicated to "clean-up" of my last undergraduate exams.
And I must say I did it well.

You'll be reading from me more often now, I have much to write about and I'll have even more to write about in weeks and months to come.

Mt. Uršla at Night

We (my girl and I) went on the mt. Uršla yesterday. Because the days are really hot this time of year we decided to start the tour in the evening.
So started from Velenje some time after the 19.00. We riched the top at about 21.00. Unfortunately we missed the sundown for a few minutes. Te cottage was already closed and so we only ate and drink and turned down.
The wind at the top was quite strong and that made us go down quite soon. We went down with headlamps slowly. We were back at the car at about 22.30.
It was nice tour the view was nice. It is even more beautiful at niht. But I'll have to take her on the real night tour some other time.

Torchwood

You remember Dr. Who?
Well this is the spin-off of the original series. It only has one season. But it is promising. I must say I enjoyed every part of it.
It's about Captain Jack who plays a role in original series. He is the one who can not die. Nothing can kill him. He is trapped in life. He finds him self in the 20th century and starts preparing the human race for what will happen in th 21st century. He is in charge of the secret non government agency called Torchwood. The agency is dealing with aliens and the other strange happenings in the Britain.
Can't wait for the next season.

Skuta, Grintovec

Just the next day (after the Sleme and 11th day of Ribno) three of us (Pero, Štef and me) went on not so easy tour in the mountains.
We started on 4'o clock from Velenje and went to Logarska Valley, where we really started the whole thing. We went on Okrešelj, over the Turski Žleb to Skuta (2532m) and to the highest mountain in the Kamniško-Savinjske Alps Grintavec (2558m).
The tour was very long and we had to be very careful with our water supply.
The weather was sunny but because of the wind it was not so hot. We saw many mountain goats and quite a few people on out way. On the way back we missed the right path and lost at least hour and a half (and some precious water). When we came back to the cottage on Okrešelj I had to drink 2 liters of water. I was so short on it.
It was a great tour and really nice view. You can see some photos here (until my phone went dead).

11th day of Ribno

The same day that I went on the Sleme we had so called 11th day of Ribno. It's meeting of all the scout guides (old one and new one) that were in the Ribno this year. It usually means afternoon of football between older and younger guides and later between random teams.
It also means chatting and eating.
At evening we even watch some movies from Ribno. They are usually very funny and entertaining. The also bring back memories on recent years.
It was really great.

On the Sleme over the Razbor.

This was one of my longest bike tour ever. It was over 60km altogether. We (my girl and me) went on this nice tour last Friday. It was really beautiful. The weather was hot and clear the view was fantastic and the tour was sweaty. We started from 390m in Velenje and went up to more then 1100m high.
I must say it was great for the body and soul.
Will do some more tours like this.

The Premonition

Sandra Bullock is the star of this one. Like the last one it has something to do with time. Last time she was writting across the time to someone who was living in a different time in The Lake House.
However this time is different. She is living a week out of order. The days don't go in the usual order. She doesn't start week with with Monday but with some other day. She needs more then few days to find this out.
She is living the events out of order, for some she knows what will they end like and for the other ones she doesn't have a clue how did she get there.
Quite confusing story and life.

Fantastic 4 - Rise Of The Silver Surfer

Yes another part of this strip based movie.
What can I say. A lot of bullshit and sleazy parts put together into a story that could be so much much more. But What can I say.
Simple Hollywood recipe: some pretty girls some the muscular guys some sparks between them and some action and you have the action.
How I miss some deeper and more possible stories. I love Sci-Fi but this is just bullshit of it. The story could be so much much more not just another soap. But That brings money.
Good special effects, but could be better.

El Laberinto del Fauno

I just can't do anything useful with myself because of my illness. I can't even read nor thing about anything. My head feels like it'll explode. Thankfully it doesn't hurt.

And this is perfect time to watch some movies.
The first one on my list was a good fantasy story from Mexico. It is a story about a little girl that lived during the war. Her mother married an army commander because of well being of her daughter, her self and her not yet born brother.
They moved from city to the country where "father" was fighting the rebels. He was very cruel commander and did not know any fear.
When they stopped on the way to new home the girl found a statue and encountered an elf. The first night in new home she was waken by elf. Elf lead her to the labyrinth where she got to know even more mystiricle being Faun (Pan man).
She was told a story of a young princes that is probably her. She was lost from underground kingdom and all the kingdom is searching for her. They have found her now and they will take her back if she proves that she is really the one and completes three tasks before the next full moon.
She takes the challenge. The problem is that her mother's pregnancy gets worse and worse. Faun helps her and she can concentrate on the tasks.

Let that be enough. I believe it will drag you to watch it. It is a great movie and you really should watch it.

Ribno 2007 and some more

Well this was really long one. I mean time without blogging.
But I have some good reasons, and some not so good.
Let's state those not so good first. When I came form Ribno, last Saturday I was so tired that I just had to sleep for many hours. When I finally came to my senses I have cough bad ear inflammation. And I was good for few more days. I had to stay in bed with high fewer. Even now I can not go outside and do not feel quite well, but well enough to write these lines.
But let's leave that behind and tell something about all good stuff.

At this years scout camping I was one of the three leaders of our guide school. The guide school is preparation course for those who want to become guides of of scout group (smaller one). It teaches you few basics you need to know when you get your own young scout group. It is put together of knowledge of different fields. From knowing how to survive in the nature, first aid, about orientation and topography, astronomy, signalization, how to made useful objects from natural materials, history of scouts, teamwork, communication, ... and some most important things on how to work with kids, what to expect of them and how to solve some problems.
This course is fitted in ten day's with theoretical and practical parts. At the end each individual that has joined the course takes the test and during the whole time he is carefully observed how is he doing things, what is his behavior, and much more.
It is a very heavy course for youngsters of 14, 15 and few more years.
At the end each and everyone is told what he is capable of and how old group of scouts is he prepared to have if any.
Our guide school is known to be one of the best in our country. But no school can make wonders. Many of our guides are known to be one of the best ones but that is because they had good guides and they got the knowledge and experience even before they went to guide school.
I can say that for myself. The guide school was only repeating and strengthen the knowledge I already had.
For many years now we receive candidates from all over the country and we can see how the things are very different from parts to parts. How different is approach in different parts of country.
There were 18 candidates in the first shift Only 6 of them were from our part, all the others were from allover the country.

But not to think that because we were in a course we didn't do any other stuff. We also
attended all the "cultural" and fun stuff. We just had our own program and were independent of any other. But we were there to help and to entertain.


The weather this year was very mixed for sure. There was lots of rain, even some storms with hail, some really hot days and few days of English weather. After 3 years it was cold enough at night that the snow fell under 1000 meters above the sea in the middle of the summer.

I must say I enjoyed every day of this years camping. Every day was a little surprise.

Going to Ribno

Yes here it is. One of the best parts of the year. The yearly scout camping in our fairytale place in Ribno.
I'm leaving day after tomorrow and I won't be able to write to my blog. So be patient and wait for 10 more days, for me to come back.
I'll write about it then and I hope I'll even get some photos from there.

Tomorrow I have my last exam for summer period (and only one more to go).

Stormbraker

Do you think James Bond is a little bit too old for his job.
Well if you do. This is the movie for you.
An action movie about young spy that got the job because of his uncle.
His uncle dies in weird circumstances. Even his nephew doesn't really know nothing about his true work.
As it is shown later he was raised to become a spy, his uncle trained him his all life (he is skilled fighter, sportsman, can speak many languages, and much more).
At the funeral he noticed that many people are there that he doesn't know who they are. And he gets suspicious. He encounters the MI6 headquarters. They want him to continue the work of his uncle and help them prevent the disaster. The world famous IT-tech man is building the system called Stormbraker. It is the system that will be used in public schools to help teaching young people.
However the thing is not as neat as it seems. The system in reality is a mass killing machine that kills all the users that are close enough.
The young spy manages to stop this disaster and and rescue the world.
It is a little funny movie but watchable.

Shooter

Well. It looks like the sniper - contract killer movies are "in".
This is another one. And I must say it's better then the last one (The Contractor). The story is about a long range shooter that is asked to help with security of the president.
But as it shows later the council of few individuals - being rich because of dirty work they do, has set him a trap to make him The killer.
He is one of two living snipers capable of shooting at that range in the world. But the plan fails and the shooter is not dead when he should be.
And the nightmare of council has begun. He gets help by rookie FBI agent that suspects something is not right about assassination attempt. He is sniffing arround and gets into trouble for it.
The shooter gets to him and gets him on his site. Tells him all that he knows and together they start to get to the bottom of it.
They find out all about dirty work and mass killings in Africa. How did the council get so rich and untouchable and who is the real shooter in assassination attempt.
There is also woman involved (as always). It is the wife of shooters dead partner.
The movie shows how the money and power can make you untouchable by law and how this people can do what ever they want.
But in the end they got killed by "unknown killer". Great action.

The Contractor

Action movie about a contract killer that is being "rented" to kill a very dangerous man that he encountered before. The task should be simple, but he should not be noticed.
And there is where he failed. He got noticed and seen. And because of that he became one of the most wanted man in London where all took place.
His partner was killed. And he didn't have anyone who he could relay on. That is when he met a young girl from next door, that helped him clean his name and tell the public who was behind all that.
The assassination was ordered by American secret service, that wanted him dead more then anything else. They even killed the police chief that was in head of investigation.
At the end it all carries out well for the contractor and he can safely return to his ranch somewhere in Rocky Mountains.
Nice action movie.

Adventure Race Slovenia 2007

And it is over. Well more then day ago actually.
The race was great, there were first Slovenian winners in history of our race. The weather was very mixed, from heat to rain storms. There were 14 teams that started the race and 10 of them finished the race.

We were all very tired after the finish. I mean all the competitors and the organizers.

Big Nothing

What to say about this one.

It's a comedy about a three people that want to get rich by blackmailing a priest. A priest was browsing through porn sites and they had a proof.
They are two man and a woman. They want to keep it all quiet and are counting that priest will pay without questions.
But as always, it doesn't go smooth. The money collector gets shoot. The alibi maker finds out that they can not use the alibi they planed. He also kills a man by accident.
There are many funny situations and they are all connected.
One of the criminal is also married to the sheriff. They also encounter a secret that they never thought about it.
They also find out that there is much more money in the game that they thought.
Nice comedy.

Doctor Who

Yes, I've got infected too.

A friend of mine told me about this series and I checked it on IMDB. The series runs form late 60's but the fun (the special effects and stuff) begins with latest edition in 2005.

The Doctor is an alien (a Time Lord) that is the last of his kind. He travels through time and space and keeps the history as it should be. He is taking care that more developed races do not interfere with the less developed ones. And he especially loves Humans.

He travels around in his spaceship that is cloaked in Police Box.

He chooses a companion that travels around with him. He prefers woman. It's, as my roomy calls it, "English Sci-Fi" (English meaning Great Britain). It contains British humor and all the actors speak British.

A really nice series. It somehow reminds me on The Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe (form 80's).

Number 23

Jim Carry in a thriller. I must say I liked it very very much.
It's about the number 23 and how it is connected with everything in the world. At least for the main character in this movie.
The story is very complex and really good. And it all starts when he begins reading the book 23.

A good one.

... Blah, blah, blah, ...

Yes, I know.
I've been bad boy and didn't write for quite some time now.
But I have two good reasons. I've passed two exams. Two more and I'm over with exams for this part of study (undergraduate).

We'll now is coming the busiest part of the year. ScoutFest, Adventure race Slovenia 2007, two more exams and for the finish yearly scout camp in Ribno.

Windows evolution

If you are too young to know all the versions of Windows that were out on the market, you can see some screen shots here. I must say that from version 3.0 I tried all of them.
They were good, but, now that I on Os X I just won't go back. I like this one so much more.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End

For quite a time we have a movie theater with special effects in town called XpanD, where I study. But I've never been there until a short while ago. Me and my friends wanted to see the third part of the Pirates, and we selected the XpanD.
It was quite nice with all the wind blows, water spilled, smoke and light effects. There were also some kicks in the butt, pokes in the legs and of course rumble.
The wind was quite strong and it made annoying cold in the room. But it was quite an experience.

Now lets say something about the movie too.
I liked it. It was about the rescuing of Jack Sparrow form the world between the living and death. The special effects are really great and the story is good to. It's a great pirate experience for the third time. Well it is a little long but it's worth it.

Jobs & Gates together on stage

Well, I thought I will not live to see this, but here it was. Few days back there was an interview wit CEO's two of the most known software development corporations in the world (well none of them is making only software), Bill and Steve.
Yes those two. Many people thought that they can't stand each other, that they will fight if they meet. But they surely are more civilized. And I must say that the interview was fair to both of them as well. They talked about the past of both companies, about their cooperation and how they contributed to the IT community.
Very nice chat about past, present and future. What they think of each other (and their companies), what is pushing them forward and who do they have to thanks for the success.

The Great Global Warming Swindle

You all should remember Al Gore and his Inconvenient Truth. Well here is the answer to that exact documentary. As Al says the main thing that is chaging the climate is CO2. And especially the CO2 that man creates.
In this documentary this fact is "proven" wrong. Well if you believe it. The whole anti global warming movement is just a set up of the rich countries and corporations that do not want countries in development to develop as fast as they did.
Well I find that stuff bullshit. But in the documentary there is shown some facts that might be more important then CO2 and how there could be more reasons for temperature rising.
What I find bad is that they are persistently claiming that CO2 has NOTHING to do with it.
Well I believe that some things are truth from both documentaries. I just don't like the intension that this one was made with. The intension of disqualifying the Al Gore's documentary.
still believe that people should hear both side of the story.

World Fastest Indian

I put this one away for a very long time. But not because it was bad but because it is a long movie. And a great one.
It is about a New Zealand an old man in his seventies who is obssesed with speed. He rebuilt an old motorcycle Indian in his own garage. He took it on many test rides and wanted to test it on real track in Arizona desert.
The movie shows us how a simple man with a dream can do it. He traveled on his own to the USA and somehow made it to the Arizona. He had many problems along the road and even some good moments. When he got to the Arizona he found out that he should register few months earlier. And not just that but also that his motorcycle doesn't meet the strict criteria of the speed racing.
However he managed to persuade the organizers to let him run. And how he did it.
He pulled more them 200 mph from his under 1000 ccm engine. His record still stands.
When he returned to the homeland he became local hero and joined many races during later years.

Are We Done Yet

Do you remember Are We There Yet?
Well same actors few years later. They all live together in a very small apartment in center of the city. While father wants to start a new sports journal. His wife is pregnant with twins.
They move to the suburbs in a old, at first look quite good house, and as they later find out they'll have to rebuild it almost from stretch.
There is also an annoying salesman Chuck that is not just that but much more: local contractor, local inspector, home birth expert, former Lakers player, Olympic competitor and much much more.
It is a good family comedy about making family ties stronger.

I'm delighted. Google just won't stop giving out candies for us small end users. And here is the latest one.

Great stuff.

New Zealand and M$ Office

The great news I just must share. The New Zealand School department decided that they will not renew the expensive licenses for Microsoft's Office for Mac. They encourage the school to use open source NeoOffice instead.
And that is a really great news for me. Because I hate Things that are not free of charge, especialy for learning.

Alpha Dog

Young people who are dealing with wrong stuff just won't get great future. This is a story about a guy that wants to be king of the street and wants all to respect him. And that is why one day he steals some other bastards little brother because of 800$.
The kidnapped boy is cool with it, because he can finally get to know what is happening in the world around him, and gets to know many new friends and girls that he likes a lot.
But the things get really complicated, when the "boss" realizes what might happen to him if he is coughed by the police. And that is when he decides that boy has to go for good.
There is however another problem. How to get rid of him. He pulls in his most loyal friend that will make the job done. And even thou that everybody else is against killing, it is done.
The police soon catches the main participants in the killing and the got from 20 years to a lifetime of jail. The main character in whole thing gets away for few more years when Interpol catches him.
The bad example of what can happen with not so bad guys that are messing with wrong things like drugs.

Meet The Robinsons

Well I mus admit this is one of the fines animation movie for a long time. Yes I liked it much more then Shrek The Third.
It is a sci-fi animation about a genius boy that invents many many advanced things. I particularly liked th future where all the things were so cool. Stuff like Insta-building almost made me drop my lover yaw.
I must say that there are many great ideas that can make your brains running. And the story is very good and funny too. I really really liked this one.

Velenje City Adventure(race)

We did it again. The Second Velenje City Adventure(race) that was going on on the Saturday the 26. of May.
It was a sunny day and we started early in the morning (I got up at 5:45AM) and started to put race together. Many preparations were done over last few months and the majority of them in last few weeks. We prepared good for this race and made it one of the best City adventure(race)s in our history.
The weather was on our site the whole day. It was hot but beautiful. Like in all City adventure(race)s there were two categories of race. 40 km track and 80 km track. The track was separated in more stages: trekking, swimming, paddling, mountain biking, caving and additional stages for 80 km: roller blading and canyoning.
There were 51 teams altogether, 23 in the longer and the rest in shorter category. The start of the race was at 10:00 AM in the center of Velenje and the two teams were starting the race each minute.
The fastest team on short track needed 4h and 28 minutes to get through the track and the fastest team on the longer track needed few minutes less then 7 hours to complete the race.
The most difficult part of the race was trekking. Not just because of the length of it but also because of great heat.
The race was concluded at 20:30 PM. All the teams were fascinated about the track.

But we also organize a longer race for teams of 4 (at least one women) that will start on 22. June and will last for two days. That race is international and if you would like to try it check the page of Adventure Race Slovenia.

Shrek The Third

More and more movies have the third part these days. And Shrek is no an exception. Shrek the third or how to get a baby ogre and getting the man that could run the kingdom. The donkey and his Ms. Dragon have babies, and princess Fiona really wants some too. However the Shrek is not very happy when he hears the news. He just knows what the baby ogers are like.
After princesses father dies the burden of the kingdom is on his shoulders and he doesn't like that ether. He just doesn't feel like the right man for a job and he gets on journey to get the only other kin that can take the throne.
Arthur the chosen one is in high school and is called looser by almost all of the students. The story is getting even more complex on their return.
I must say that previous parts were more funny (at least to me) but it is still good animated comedy with nice story.

Wild Hogs

John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and some more good actors. So what do you think the genre of this movie is? Yes, you are right its comedy. And I must say a good one.
Some guys in their mid ages decide to relive their youth. So they are going on the road trip with their choppers. Not only that they got rusty over the years they also do not realize their real age.
They come across a motorcycle gang that terrorizes them and takes one of their choppers.
They get back on them and by accident blow up their bar. So all the gang is hunting them down. The ran into a small town that gets terrorized by that same gang every few months and they help them get rid of the gang for good (that too only by accident).
It's a good comedy that shows what happens to men in middle age crisis.

The Ron Clark Story

Hummm. About this movie. It is nice one and tells a story about a primary school teacher. A very good teacher shows us that even the most troubled kids can be taught many things. You just have to find the right approach.
He moves from a small school and small town, where he was named best teacher for four years in a row. He wants a new challenge. And that is why he moves to New York, where he wants to try teaching in one of the public schools.
At first he just can't find any school that would take him, but he luckily encounters a school where one of the teacher is just quitting because the scholars are "too crazy".
At first he has no success, but after a while he gets to know his kids and knows all the tricks to make them listen too him. His goal is to make them all pass the exams, but not just that but to pass them with great scores.
Even thou he has many problems he manages it. And his class is the best in the New York district. One of his kids even gets perfect score by two topics.
This is a real life story about the teacher that knows how to teach. He even published few books on the topic.
Really good movie.

Dragon Tiger Gate

Another one form far East. And a good one again I must say. It's about two brothers that got separated in their youth. They were both very good in kung-fu and they got even better while growing.

At some point in time one of the brothers was saved from fire and raised by a very powerful man. But that man was a bad guy. He was a gang leader and did many bad things and used the older brother (that he raised) for doing dirty work for him.

He also had a younger daughter who was like sister to adopted brother and she fell in love with younger brother.

Meanwhile younger brother was raised by his uncle and helped him at his kung-fu school.

The names of the brothers were Dragon and Tiger and that is right form the name of the school - Dragon Tiger Gate.

One day brothers meet, but they were at the opposite side. They do not want to hurt each other they just want what is best for them.

The story goes one, with an evil figure that wants to destroy the Dragon Tiger Gate school and kill both brothers.

As mostly this time the end is happy after all. The brothers are joined again and the school stands still.

Kiss Me Again

What is a dream of every (straight) man?
Sleeping with two women off course. But is it really? Well in this movie you can find out what all can couples discover when they are "experimenting". Where can all lead. It is not only that a man can fall for a newcomer more then for his old love. It is also possible that his mate falls for in love with the other girl. Well that is something that can make much trouble.
And not just that, what if the third person is your student?
Well that just does it? Or not?
Well find out for yourselves how one of such stories goes and through what must a couple get if they decide to "experiment".

She's The Man

Can girls play soccer? Well about this and much more is right this movie. When a girl soccer (or football in Europe) team was dismissed because of too few attenders some of girls stood up and wanted to join the mens team. But the coach of mens football team (and all the teammates) were just laughing.
"You are not good enough."
"You are not tough enough."
And so on they were screaming. One girl just didn't want to give up and used great chance to get in a men team. Her brother was just going abroad and she took a big step filling in his spot in his new school. She dressed up like a guy and went to soccer tryouts. But she was not in the first string right from beginning. She had to work really hard and take extra practice to get in shape and get good enough.
There were also many complications about her secret and many more funny things.
It's a nice comedy, just right to relax.

Blizzard did it again

As many of you probably already know, one of the best game production company - Blizzad, has announced long awaiting new game from their lair. And the long awaited game is Starcraft 2.
It has been almost a decade since the first part and the first part was the epic one (as all the games from the Blizzard are). And for 9 years we have waited for something new from realm of Starcraft.
Blizzard is promising that there will be an even more epic game-play and much much more. They have opened the new site for the game and you can find more about the game here on it.

Scout Fest 2007

It is 100 years this year since the first starts of scout movement. And all over the world scouts are preparing to celebrate this great anniversary. In Slovenia there will be great three day event that will connect scouts from all over the country in our great town of Velenje.
Yes, our scout group was chosen to organize this big event. At the Scout Fest there will be national competition in scout activities, 100 workshops with different themes and a great concert that will conclude the great event.
I can't wait to be there and enjoy the company from scouts from all over Slovenia. It'll be really great.

New Rutka.NET outfit

After many and many years of promises and wishes, out scout portal Rutka.NET has get the new outfit and new back-end. Now we can really call it portal, because it is one.
The new design and technology are fitting well together and are making scouts easier to browse through all the content on the portal. I must also warn you that the portal is in Slovene only.

MREST 2007

Last Saturday (12. may), we were on beachwolley tournament that was organized by catholic scouts. There were two teams from Velenje and three teams (including out two) that were not from catholic scouts but from scouts (yes, the real ones ;) ).
The tournament was organized really good and despite the bad weatherforecast we had a really nice sunny weather. The competition took place by Zbilje lake. That is artificial lake on river Sava.
We were having really good time and our team took fifth place at the end (well, we could be third :( ). The other team from Velenje placed second right behind the last years winning team of scouts from all over Slovenia. You can find some photos here.

Hubble found Dark matter

Well, not exactly. But something like that. Astronomers have found facts that could help explaining where the dark matter is.
For those who know more about that, this will be an important discovery. This is the first proof that there should be dark matter out there and it explains how it behaves.

Step Up

Do you remember Honey, the movie of dancing. Well here is another one. And I liked it. It's about a white boy that lives in black neighborhood and likes dancing really much. But as many young boys he is making some bad things too. One day he and his friends break into a art school and they made mess out of a stage. A guard catches him and he gets labor work in that same school.
While he is doing that, he realizes that he really likes that school and that he would like to be part of it. And he gets a chance. A senior grade dancer looses hers dancing partner because of twisted ankle. And she just can't find a replacement. She is a pretty looking girl and he offers his help to her.
The love story of young couple and all the things that comes with it. He starts to put his friends aside and spends more and more time in that school. There is also girls boyfriend and some other interesting people on that school.
The story is nice, the play is good and dancing is just great as is the music.

Did you ever wonder what would you do if you could tell the future?
Well Nicholas Chage knows everything about it in this movie. He wants to meet a nice girl that he saw in his future.
He wants to have her and he does everything to get her. But he is not the only one that knows his secret. Some government people also know it and they want to use it to prevent a nuclear explosion somewhere in US.
At the beginning he can only see as much as 2 minutes ahead, but later on he travels further and further into the future. And not only that, he can also try different scenarios and choose the right one to get things done.
Nice movie to watch.

Nevarnost.org

Well, one of my classmates helps by portal nevarnost.org.
It could be translated INSECURITY or DANGER. It's a portal about computer security. How to keep your self (your PC or MAC or whatever) away from uninvited folk that you do not want to have on your computer.
It is also about network security and about applications that help you being secure.
They also post some chelanges that may bring you an reward. it is called Skr3k4j n4gr4d0! (or Crack The Reward).
The portal is in Slovene. So if you feel like cracking get it done fast :)

Spiderman 3

Like many other movies Spiderman has awaited the third part too.
And like always it shows fight between good and evil. But this time it is about the evil inside the Spiderman himself. The Spiderman shows what would his dark side look like if it would be much more intensified. This happens when a strange thing comes from fallen meteorite and gets to Spiderman. It strenghtens his anger and rage so that he does things that he normally wouldn't do.
He revenges his uncle by trying to kill hiss killer.
There are some new bad figures that want him dead and he gets help, because he can't do it all by himself.
It's not original anymore and the story isn't something special either. Just another love - action movie.

Veruda

As I said in recent post I went on holiday with my girl too.
We (us two, and group of ARS organizers) went to a small island of Veruda, near Croatian city of Pula. A very nice and quiet island that only has a camp and Scout camp on it.
We took some boats whit us and made some paddling (to stay in shape). The weather was nice (hot sun with mild wind) it only rained once at night.
I rally enjoyed those three days down there.

Grossglockener

Well, I had some "labor day" holidays and I took some time for my own and for my girlfriend.
First I took some care for me.
So on Saturday the 28. of April, group of four guys from Velenje started the expedition to the Austrian highest mountain Grossglockner. We started at 8.00 o'clock in Velenje and traveled all the way to the bottom of the mountain (as far as the road goes). That was on about 1900 meters above the sea and we came there at about 11.30.
The first part of the path was to get to the Stüdelhütte (here or here) at 2801 meters. In the book it said that it takes about 3,5 - 4 hours to reach it. Well, we made it in 2,5 hours.
That was what we planed for the first day. It was very nice weather outside so we sunbathed a little, eat some food (some from hut and some that we brought with us).
The hut was really nice. Well what can I say. They had 7 (yes seven) course meal for supper. and it was so nice that I never believed it is possible at 2800 meters. It was really nice (I'm waiting for photos from a friend to see it again).
The next morning at 4.00 am we started our ascend. It took us quite a while to get to the 3798 meters high top of the mountain. But the surprise was waiting for us on descent. We have never seen such a crowd of people going on one mountain. We had luck that we were really early and had a free path to the mountaintop.
We went down as fast as we could (carefully off course) and made our way back to Velenje.

Paper for course SCCT

Or Selected Chapters from Computer Technology as the whole title is stated.
This was one of more fun and joyful paper this year. It was about using computer vision to detect different objects in a Photo. The class was separated into more groups and in each group there was competition that selected the best from a group. And each group had to detect different objects.
In my group we were trying to detect city buses. In our city (Ljubljana) the buses are quite notable and I believed, that it will not be hard to detect them. Well I guess I made quite good algorithm to detect them.
To make things even more hard we had to localize the bus in the Photo too. That was harder then the first thing.
I somehow managed to do both and at least I was quite happy with the results.
One part of the note is also the report in which student describes what and how did he do it. And you can find mine here. Well, it is in Slovene again. I really hope I'll start writing some English papers soon, so that more general public will be able to read it.

The Sentinel

A secret service agent is framed with attempt of killing a president. He runs and tries to prove his innocents on his own.
As an old member of secret service he nows all the tricks and moves that they will made trying to find him.
He also has affair with a first lady and that is the secret that helps him prove that he is not the one.
A very good thriller that keeps you on the edge from begining until the end.

The Seraphim Falls

There was civil war in America. And in the end there were some mistakes made by a commander. In the confusion a mother and a baby were burned alive in the house in front of the fathers eyes.
And since that the husband seeks revenge and wants to kill the man responsible for those deaths.
It's a long story that takes us through many parts, through winter and snow to the desert.
It shows us how both man are making all that is needed for them to reach their goal.

It is a little too long movie but shows the life in that time piece.

Arthur And The Invisibles

Still waiting for a good bad time story.
Well here is one. And it is nice. Made partly in movie and partly in animation style. It tells the story. It gethers the parts from many stories from the past and brings them all together.
A boy that is living by his grandmother is waiting for his grandfather to return.
His grandfather was adventurer and has visited many strange places all over the world. Even parts that are unknown to other man. Places where you have to be really small if you even want to notice them. And to get that small you have to be at the right place at the right time and meet the right people that will help you.
In the world of small there is (like always) fight between good and evil. And this story isn't any different here. Arthur has to rescue the kingdom of small, to help his grandmother in the world of big, to stay in her house. She had some money problems since her husband disappeared.
But Arthur does not only save his grandmother but also finds his grandfather imprisoned by evil lord. Here is some connections to the Star Wars too.
Really nice story to watch.

Confidence

It's about con man that is making the biggest con in his life.
It's a good movie in Ocean's style. It conflicts the story and puts it all together at the end.
Really fun movie to watch.

88 Minutes

Very good movie about a forensic psychiatrist and college professor. He is not young any more but he is single and likes young women. The movie begins when he is celebrating a conviction of one of serial killers that he testified against.
But this is only the beginning. Soon after that new crimes that look just like the ones from imprisoned killer starts to appear again. And that is not enough. Professor also receives a strange phone call that is telling him that he only has 88 minutes to live.
This is where all the fun begins.
A very good story that drags you in.

Aurora Borealis

Well. I don't really know what type of movie this is. Let's call it a romance.
But it is not really that.
I tells us about a man who just can't keep his job. But it is not because he wouldn't like to. There is always a reason. He has a married brother that uses his apartment for sex with his lover.
They lost their parents long ago and while one found his meaning in work and family, the other just can't find his purpose.
One day he visits his grandparents and finds out that his grandfather will not live much longer and that he is trying to kill himself to make life for his wife better.
That is where he finds a love of his life. and ...
Low budget movie. I was not very thrilled of the story.

Blood Diamond

Where do the diamonds come from, and what does it take to get them?
Why is there blood in the title. I would say because of many things. Not only that the diamonds are smuggled in lambs (so they are literally in their blood) but there is also much blood spilled because of them.
Most of the weapon that is used in fights in Africa is payed by diamonds and that is just because some people like them so much that they would pay fortune for them.
As the movie says they are not so rare as some believe. But merchants want them to be expensive so they get more money out of people.
The movie shows us also how the children in Africa are abused and forced to fight and kill.
The movie makes you think how some people are just bad and how they are doing damage to many others.

Hannibal Rising

I must say this is popular.
First there was Batman. Then followed some others. And now here is Hannibal.
I hope we all know The Silence of the Lambs. The first movie where we get to know Hannibal Lecter. The cruel doctor who kills bad people and even eats some parts of them. but why did he get like that.
Well here is the answer to the question. Watch this movie.
It's a great movie that shows horrors of second world war and what concequences have some people because of that. How horror is not always that horrible to some people and why some people are capable of doing things that other are not.
I must say that I enjoyed this movie.

Dreamgirls

Musical after a long while. And who is playing in it? Eddie Murphy.
The movie shows what is going on in the music industry, how it is not always what artists want but what the public wants from them. How can a manager turn the things to move and where is the money coming from.
All of this in just one movie. And it fits together very well. We can also see how those that have talent are not as popular as the ones that have looks. How drugs are problems in music industry and why they are problem (because the artists are forced to do something they do not want too).
The story is great and the act is performed good too.
Nice movie to watch and especially to hear.

Rocky Balboa

What can I say. The move that made Sly famous and tells how an old man can still fight young ones.
I would like to think it is the end of Rocky series. Sly still has the edge.
Enough said.

Smokin' Aces

Who will kill him first.
A movie about a man that is a crucial witness in a great mob affair. Many people want him dead and many people will pay for his dead. He is protected by FBI and they are guarding him. But almost none know why are they really guarding him. It is because his father needs a new heart and they want to make sure he will get one, so he can testifies against many more people then just his son.
It is a very complex story and a very cruel movie. But good one.

Highlander - The Source

Another movie from about Highlander, immortals that are leaving around us.
In this part they are seeking the source that is making them all immortal and that will make them go to eternity.
Not a really good movie. It is seed that it is a lo budged movie. I liked the series the most, the movies are just bad try.
The actors are the same, at least the main group of them.

300

Now something about movies as I promised few days back.

The 300 is a great movie. Not just because it has a great story about a 300 Spartan soldiers that are defending the Greece from Persians. But it is not as many other history spectacles that only shows how it was back then but is filmed after the comic with same title. And that is how it is presented . The scenes in the movie are so great and well taken that it is hard to breath. The story is very good and tells of what is crossing the mind of warriors on both sides.
On the other hand you can also find a deeper meaning in there. How did Spartans think, what was war for them and how good were they really at it.

I must say one of better movies lately.

Heroes

Did I said that I have poisoned with Prison Break.
Well ... That was not the only poison I tried recently. I have also tried Heroes. It is another series but there is only one season out. And even that one is not at the end. And it is great. Quite different then Prison Break but still great indeed.
Can't wait for next episode to come out.

Prison Break

As I told you my main occupation was WoW. But it was surely not the only one. I have poisoned my self with a breaking new series (on top of all the older ones) Prison Break.
Since there are two complete seasons out now I had to catch up with it and so I watched complete 1st season in just one and a half day. The other half of the second day was of course dedicated to the second season.
So what do you mean I thing of the Series.
It is surely boring as hell - NOT!
I have really enjoyed every part of it. So go watch it whole or do not watch it at all.
